JHPD Lateral Police Officer

The ideal candidate must possess two (2) years of experience as a certified law enforcement officer in a full-service law enforcement agency (Maryland or Non-Maryland).

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 20 ½ years of age
  • Must have current MPCTC certification or meet Comparative Compliance Standards

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring community-oriented law enforcement services
  • Patrolling and crime prevention services to protect life and property
  • Offering proactive support of student and staff initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining a positive rapport with students, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding neighborhoods
